Touch

Touch is our most important sense and the only one we cannot live without...

It helps to soothe our nervous system. When we are touched, cortisol decreases, which can have a beneficial role in our immune responses. Our heart rate and blood pressure decrease, we feel calmer and more centred.

Often our emotions and trauma are held in tissues. Touch, in the form of massage, can help to release tension and holding which can allow us to move through emotional blockages and let go. We feel accepted, cared for and held. We know we are not alone.
